The obvious question.
The current version on the site is 6.1.2 - it what comes with XCode, Swiftly etc.
On the other hand - the TSPL "has been updated to 6.2".
Let's say at it's current state, TSPL is mostly useful to new users learning the language, as it doesn't cover many advanced or recently added features. For new users of the language, this mismatch is confusing.
If it's possible - please make the version match the "official" version that's supposed to be installed when following the instructions from the site, or when using latest versions of XCode or Swiftly.
PS: Also, having several versions of the documentation, (as many languages do) would be nice. Normal search option (that allows searching words within the document) or at least a proper complete index, would be also great additions.

Because we're only able to publish one version, the content in TSPL tracks the current shipping Swift beta.
As an update since my 2018 note — now that TSPL uses DocC, we're no longer able to update the ePUB versions on the Apple Book Store (formerly iBooks). This is a known issue and there are various folks in the Swift community who have built ePUB and PDF versions for the most recent language versions.
The advice to check the revision history chapter is still current. You should be able to ignore the new sections for features that were added in the latest beta and aren't yet available to you.
It's a known issue that TSPL hasn't maintained 100% coverage for the past few years. There's another active thread on the forum with some ideas to improve this, as well as also ongoing one-on-one conversations outside the forum.
I am sorry if the answers to these questions are obvious, or have been answered before.
- Is not it possible to have several versions of the book when using DooC? If it is not possible, why?
- If it is not possible - then maybe DooC is not the best tool for writing books?
