Notes
Community showcase
- @daveverwer: The number of nominations has dropped, making it difficult to highlight packages in the community showcase section on the website. Currently, we have zero nominations for July.
- @James_Dempsey: We use the forums category "Community Showcase" to find packages to highlight on the website.
- @alexandersandberg: I agree with James' comment on using the forums category to find new packages to highlight. It's also worth seeing if we have gotten more traffic because WWDC talks about What's new in Swift, including the community showcase section.
Overall, we would like to change the rules and allow self-nomination to allow a larger pool of packages to pick from.
Proposal to update the CSS on the install page
Rauhul was a guest in the website workgroup meeting to discuss his proposal to update the CSS on the swift.org install page, which included changing the page's color and border.
- @James_Dempsey suggested that we should look at this with the major re-design we are planning in the future.
- @daveverwer believes incremental changes would be okay and is in favor of the changes proposed by Rauhul. The orange buttons' color is strong, and if we can drop it down by 25%, that might work better.
- @alexandersandberg believes it will be essential to define the brand identity.
- @mishal_shah suggested figuring out the color palette we would like to use on swift.orgto provide a contestant look and feel across the website.
We will look for a DRI in the website workgroup to drive the discussion for the color palette with the Swift community.
