Hi everyone,
The call for devrooms has opened again, and I will submit another request.
Please reach out to me if there are any changes I should incorporate into the request, or if I can reuse the same proposed talks/topics as last year.
Hi everyone,

I’d do some different talks, but happy to do a talk. @Obbut might also be interested in giving a talk.
If there's enough interest, I would offer a talk about my proprietary framework "SwiftAutomotive – a framework for vehicle diagnostics and ECU reprogramming". Might be interesting for some folks, in particular, because a) the non-UI parts are working on Linux, too, and b) we are using RunLoops as the core transport abstraction!
Since last time, adwaita-swift
was endorsed on the Swift Blog, so I think my topic is no longer relevant. I don't know how to contact the maintainer, but here is the PR for the Swift Blog update.
Second reason why I probably would not bring anything valuable to the table is, that I have fallen out of love with GTK, after the 4.0 release. Being GNOME 2 fan, I have finally accepted the fact that days of 'not having javascript stuffed everywhere' are long gone and I have moved to different passions.
No change from my part, would be there.
Thanks so much for taking this on again, Steven! Fingers crossed we get the acceptance.
I'm happy to do a talk / session on building swift community and ecosystem / "state of" type talk.
Really excited to see everyone in Brussels no matter what!

We have some pretty exciting updates in the interop space so that'd be a great session and of interest to many people including "outside the usual swift crowd" so it'd be a great topic for FOSDEM.
Something like "Updates in Swift interop: C++ and Java". Could be a talk or a workshop that we could do!
I'd love to participate so we could discuss among communities a little bit. The swift on server conference recently was great to kick off some projects, but I think there's growing interest in Swift outside the "traditional" core audience so it'd be great to join FOSDEM
Other than that plenty of core language and server topics to cover. We could make sure to feature some language and related team speakers but also make sure the community is well represented
I've submitted the request for a half-day track, so fingers crossed we have more luck this year The dev rooms should be announced on Oct. 21.
Thanks for doing that! Crossing fingers.
I'm happy to report that this year, our request was accepted
We'll have a half-day devroom on Saturday February 1, in the afternoon.
The CfP should open soon (we're waiting for instructions), and will only be open for a few weeks, so start preparing your proposals
We would like to use this devroom as an opportunity to showcase some of the work being done with Swift in open source, and promote its adoption as a successor language. We should expect the room to be small (20-30 people max), and I hope we can fill it with non-Swift developers who are interested in learning about Swift.
Congrats! Finally a reason for me to visit FOSDEM again after years of absence. See you there …
The call for proposals is open now!
