Replace "continue" keyword

(Rudolf Adamkovič) #1

Ruby uses "next" keyword in place of Swift's "continue”.

I find Ruby’s word choice way better and thought it'd be worth discussing here.

P.S. Also, there is “skip”, “advance” and others.

Swift is far more steeped in the C tradition, and “next” is not “better enough” to consider a change here.

I think skip would be a better enough choice.

I don’t think skip is a better word choice either. IMO next is better than skip and I will prefer to use that than skip but as said before, next is not "better enough” as a replacement for continue.
