Some topics:

  • Android CI employing the new Android LTS NDK 30 beta 2 have been set up on linux and have been working well for the last month. There was a request that we set up the same with the new NDK 30 for Windows, which is all ready to go and working well in PR testing, just waiting on review and for the CI team to set it up. We should discuss the plan for this NDK 30 transition, since all these CI show the NDK beta working well before the upcoming release.
  • We previously discussed adding some of the Android build to the linux preset run on every compiler pull, so Android breakage is flagged before such pulls are merged, not just after, with Mishal requesting info on how much CI time it would add. I filed an issue for that as asked for: see if we can get the go-ahead to set that up and figure out what pieces to add.
  • With SwiftPM switching to swift-build as the default build system for the upcoming 6.4 release, we need more testing and review of the new Android plugin for swift-build, which has been somewhat difficult because nobody on the Android workgroup knows swift-build internals. Discuss what else remains there.
  • Little progress was made on the Android project board this summer. We should discuss who's working on those various issues that remain.
  • We should keep some time open for feedback from Android devs who use the SDK, in particular for their input on which of these tools issues they prioritize.
