@dabrahams gave a presentation and Q&A about the design of Swift that's available online now. Not much of a dive into the design but I found some interesting nuggets in both parts of the video- the part about how every other high-level language claims Swift copied them was funny- maybe you will too.

Recently watched and enjoyed Nick Lockwood's talk about Swift implementation details at the ServerSide.swift 2024 conference, one of 16 videos that were posted online a couple weeks ago on that channel and so far the most viewed.
WebKit and Safari are adopting Swift, the relevant video segment pointed out in a lobste.rs comment.

Interesting talk on programming language package dependency cultures I'm watching now, something for the @build-and-packaging-workgroup to mull over as SwiftPM deals with similar issues.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Makes you think. One thing a few of us have started talking about is turning on the option to make the Package.resolved file a lock file by default. We should think of ways of helping the user be more purposeful about dependency upgrades.

The first Kotlin engineer at google, Jake Wharton, says Swift is "a better-designed language" but Kotlin tooling is better, an interesting interview.
