TaylorSwift's thread, "How far can i get with Swift WebAssembly in 30 minutes?", takes a very long time to load for me. Even once it does load, I have to scroll very slowly, or else I see posts partially-rendered, or not rendered at all:
Looking into this, it loads fine if I start at the top of the thread (as in the link above), but if I try to go to a post further down that thread (say, #25 or 30), I encounter this issue. So evidently it's not even the whole thread that's affected.
The thread is really heavy for images and external links for GitHub than any other thread. I guess forums’ engine is trying to preload all of them before rendering, with GitHub probably taking the most of the time, causing this issue.
I've also seen it get into a state where regular text and smaller code blocks work fine, but scrollable code blocks appear empty. Any idea what would cause that to happen?
I’ve had a lot of issues with Github lately, like steadily getting worse for a month or so. Slowdowns, disconnects, server down, random errors and panics, rate limiting without interaction, etc.
There's a link to GitHub that got embedded, and includes 3 lines that each contain a rather large file encoded as Base64. Could @taylorswift or a moderator edit that post so that the embed is presented as a plan link? That should fix the issue.
