We're starting to firm up our plans for FOSDEM next year. While we're planning to submit talks to the main track, there are some obvious nexus points with this year's dev rooms – including LLVM, mobile, embedded, security, and gaming – that could be great opportunities to submit Swift talks to as well.
Additionally, we'd like to gauge interest in holding an event for the Swift community to gather onsite. Let us know if you'd like to meet there and please reach out if you'd be interested in helping to represent the Swift community.
Yeah if you're comfortable sharing publicly this thread would work for that -- otherwise DMs also work.
@karenchu, @svanimpe and myself are trying to figure out what we'd be able to do on other tracks and other activities. Happy to help polish up abstracts etc if you'd like some input.
Definitely would love to meet all of you again in Brussels and think a meet-up is a great idea.
Happy to help on-site or with some preparation before (I’m about 1h away from the university).
I’ll also check the different CfPs and see what I can submit, probably for embedded or security (@Joannis_Orlandos happy to collaborate on something if it makes sense).
@karenchu would love to have a short chat to coordinate on talk topics. I have a few interesting topics I like and can cover, but don't want to compete with other speakers. Would mainly love to spread the news to more folks that are not yet using Swift.
Me too. I was planning on submitting a proposal about Swift on Android for the FOSS on Mobile track. I'd be happy to coordinate and potentially collaborate with anyone else who is interested in presenting on this topic.
