Email settings are Ignored

I have an issue with email notifications from the forum.

I have turned off all email in the settings with the exception of: “Send me an email when someone quotes me, replies to my post, mentions my @username, or invites me to a topic”. Despite this I am getting emails for every new topic in categories I have set to be notified. I was hoping I will be receiving only app notification (I have installed the Discourse iOS app).

Is this a known issue or have I misconfigured something on my end? cc @sam.saffron

Are you 100% sure you are not watching the topics where you are being spammed with notifications?

I am watching them. The description says I will be notified. I have assumed, it is possible to be notified by push notifications only instead of by email.

Basically, I would like to get email only for @mentions. All the rest should be through push notifications. Is this not possible?
