Discussion
Franklin: Reached out to Diana again, haven't heard back yet, but PR pending through Friday before updating workgroup membership.
Joe: Community Conversation
- Thread on the forums at Documentation difference between swift.org vs developer.apple.com included some explicit offers to help with documentation content, so Joe is hosting an initial call with the folks who replied (forum names: NotTheNHK, gaelic-ghost) in the thread later this week.
- The "docs" repo should be coming online shortly (I hope) to host documentation, so this dovetails nicely into setting up more plans and community participation in expanding the documentation and guides around Swift.
- Some initial content work is captured in issues on the website repo, primarily around migrating and updating legacy content around Swift Server, planning to build that out, and prototype how to coordinate documentation updates with the community.
Joe: DocC SEO Eval
- Branch merged into nightlies for 6.3
Sven: - Easiest if we bundle that into a normal beta version setup
- If we do that, all we really need is a Swift version in the target and the extra command.
- Preference to wait until beta's start rolling.
Dave: Can’t touch a Swift 6.2 with this beta.
- Definitely need a beta of 6.3; it's far more challenging to do any custom builds.
Franklin: Xcode 16.3 was released in February last year.
Dave: Beta of the next version is all we need.
Joe: Based on last year’s, I'd guess that may be 4-6 weeks from now, but none of us know the release schedule - so that's a guess at best.
