Text corrections to old proposals encouraged or discouraged?

I was looking at the proposal repo readme and tried to find a mention of whether corrections to mistakes in the texts of older (e.g. implemented) proposals are encouraged or discouraged, but couldn't find one.

I would appreciate if that was explicit, when coming across e.g. paragraphs that reference examples that have been removed, etc.

Did I miss it?

My understanding is that the documents reflect the text as accepted or rejected. Certainly there have been minor updates to, for example, fix broken links when the forums were migrated or to update the implementation status when a feature ships. But even spelling/grammar errors have been preserved as-is; rewriting an accepted proposal risks altering the meaning of what has been reviewed and approved.
