Thanks everyone! The core team has decided to return this proposal for a second round of review, which I have initiated in this thread:

SE-0306 (Second Review): Actors

The second review of SE-0306: Actors begins now and runs through April 23, 2021. The previous review thread was here: In response to the first round of review, the core team has decided to subset out actor inheritance. We would like to see how real-world adoption of actors plays out before deciding whether actor inheritance is necessary. In response to the feedback from this thread, the core team has decided to leave out inheritance for actors until more real-world experience can determine its need. For the second review, we would like to put some more focus on the topic Chris Lattner brought up about lets and whether they deserve special consideration as nonisolated-by-default declarations.
