I have a feeling that we may be in danger of getting lost in counter-proposals here (109 responses so far, 15% of which are from @xwu). It’s an interesting discussion, for sure, but perhaps it’s worth keeping this thread in mind: Evolution process discussion

we're conscious of how draining it can be to drive an evolution proposal through pitch and review, and we know that most reviewers don't have the time to keep up with all the lengthy arguments and counter-arguments that happen in review threads. The Core Team would be very interested in suggestions for how review managers can draw attention to these debates and counter-proposals and solicit community feedback on them without excessively dragging out reviews or requiring lots of additional work from proposal authors.

Just a friendly reminder that we don’t necessarily need to bikeshed a perfect syntax here. If this one isn’t good enough, it can go back to the pitch phase.
