Hi folks,
Putting my org-admin hat on, I just want to make sure everyone is on the same page here about the selection process.
Projects have been ranked by organizations and it is now up to GSoC to assign slots.
You're more than welcome to continue the work on the project and it's all open source after all, so it's great to see the enthusiasm! However I do want to make it clear that working on a project before a project is accepted may result in getting let down if a project does not get assigned a slot in the end. As long as you're aware of that please feel free to continue hacking along on the project. I only mention this in the case a project is not selected, we would not want people to harbor harsh feelings due to time sunk in a project that wasn't in the end an accepted project.
Hey! I just wanted to share that I started learning Swift in December 2024 to get into iOS development, and I’ve been contributing to this open source project mainly as a way to learn by writing real code.
Even if the project doesn’t get selected in the end, I’m really grateful for the opportunity to learn through it. I hope the work I’ve done can still be useful to others. If anyone wants to pick it up later, they’re more than welcome to build on what’s already there.
Thank you again for your clarification and support.
I just received the update that my proposal wasn’t accepted. Of course, it’s a little disappointing, but more than anything, I’m deeply grateful to you for all the time, support, and care you offered throughout the process. Thank you for being so patient, for explaining things clearly, and for guiding me with such kindness—I’ve learned a lot, and it really meant a lot to me.
If no one is currently working on the project OpenAPI Integration with DocC, I’d still be genuinely happy to contribute and continue building it as an open source project—improving it in any way that could benefit the community.
thanks to @sofiaromorales@Joseph_Heck for the incredible help and encouragement—I truly appreciate your support!
