Hey gang - Wanted to offer a preview of Business Math, a library I built scratch a 17-year-old itch. Business Math is a pure Swift library meant to replace excel-based financial analysis models and enabling higher-level analytical tools such as monte carlo simulation for advanced forecasting. I spent seven years an analyst on Wall Street and have wanted a tool like this ever since. It actually started me on the path to programming in Obj-C back in 2008.
Also included are typical "business math" tools like portfolio optimization, option pricing, and loan amortization.
While you may not be interested in financial analytics, this is all built from the ground up and based on lower-level statistical analytics like probability distributions, hypothesis testing, and correlation – a lot of the core of this is from my app for statistically analyzing wine tastings, WineTaster.
I built all of the core pieces over the last few years, but realized I could add a lot of the higher-level features with Claude much more recently, so still calling it a preview while I validate the last few topics, even though we've got about 1,500+ unit and integration tests.
