I was asked to prototype the software for the Leading Lights system that was demonstrated earlier this month on some Midget race cars in Indiana. I chose Swift as I had a library that I implemented for another project that met about 70% of their requirements and then married its information via Combine to a cloud IoT API that switch the lights on the cars. Not rocket science by any means, but a fun project nonetheless.
And it got press (headline just a wee bit overstated):
The motorsports industry is nearly 90% Windows native with the Cloud coming on strong for new solutions. So, once the proof of concept is done we'll have to move to C# for production ;(
