Language Specification on Github?

(David Waite) #1

Is there a possibility of the swift books (at least the core language and a html build process ) being turned into projects on github? I do have changes/fixes which I would suggest against the books if there was a process to do so - and humbly suggest that process mirror the rest of the project.

Where can we discuss "The Swift Programming Language" book?

Hi David,

Are you referring to TSPL (https://swift.org/documentation/)?

Unfortunately, the input format for the book is non-standard and requires a bunch of internal infrastructure to master the book. The Apple developer publications team is interested in fixing this at some point, but doesn’t have a timeline and has some other higher priority tasks. In the meantime, I’d suggest filing radars against bugreporter.apple.com with suggested change. It certainly isn’t an ideal process, but it is at least one that will work for now.
