I'm in complete agreement with you here. "World Domination" is not exactly the most specific goal

RFC: making Swift.org a more valuable resource for the Swift community

The Swift.org website is meant to serve two purposes: Be the home page of the Swift language and the Swift community, and serving the general population of Swift users. Be a nexus for Swift as an open source project (i.e., the implementation of Swift itself), which spans multiple repositories on GitHub. These show that the core team is trying to formulate the long-term swift (and swift.org) goals by getting feedback from the community. I'm sure there will be more announcements in the future once the actual mission statement has been decided on by the core team.
