What's the difference between FloatingPoint and BinaryFloatingPoint ?

There will probably someday be a DecimalFloatingPoint.

So it seems every concrete floating point types are both at the same times. I only know of Float and Double .

Consulting the BinaryFloatingPoint documentation, we find this list:
