Since nothing works, I have not seen a reason to keep track of the specific ways in which things have not worked or how to trigger the various kinds of broken behavior. Bug-report-driven-development requires a baseline level of functionality that async function debugging has not yet reached.
Note that this case is not just that step-over acts like step-in; it's also a pretty broken form of step-in.

I discovered this thread because I am having all these described issues.
Did someone find a coping way of debugging?
For my specific most needed case:
I can't follow down the execution of my code. i.e if I want to step-in after having correctly stopped at a method call site, then the step-in button acts like a "continue". Among other already mentionned behaviors

No, it’s still completely broken. The only thing you can do is put breakpoints inside the functions.
