# Development open for Swift 4.2.3 for Linux

# Development open for Swift 4.2.3 for Linux

We’re happy to announce the opening of the development phase for Swift 4.2.3 for Linux with a planned release by the end of February 2019. This is the first of the monthly dot-releases for Linux as outlined in the [announcement](https://forums.swift.org/t/announcing-swift-4-2-2-and-monthly-swift-4-2-x-dot-releases-for-linux/20148). We’re still figuring out how to make the process as smooth as possible so please let us know if you have ideas.

And most importantly, keep the pull requests coming 🙂.

Thanks so much for your help! We've received & merged quite a number of bug fixes, especially to `swift-corelibs-foundation` so Swift 4.2.3 should really be ✨.

The development phase for Swift 4.2.3 is now complete. Given the CI issues, we will still be taking PRs #1929 and #1930 in `swift-corelibs-foundation` assuming they pass once the CI is fixed.

We are now preparing the release which we hope to release before the end of the month as previously announced.
