This might be an Apple/Xcode issue rather than a Swift one:
I am creating a playground, and have put some of the code in separate source files. When I edit those files, there is no autocomplete.
If you are talking about an Xcode project, a file has to be saved after editing for changes to appear in autocomplete (in a different file).

It is present in Xcode 9.2 as well. The syntax highlighter doesn't work either (only key words and literals).
