Hello Swift Community!
The review of ST-0021: Targeted Interoperability between Swift Testing and XCTest ran between 2026-02-24 and 2026-03-10.
The feedback was universally positive, with several people very excited to see this ship.
After the review, some members of the testing workgroup met with members of the Build and Packaging Workgroup to discuss & get sign-off on the plan for using the package's tools version as the default driver of which interop "mode" will be used (See the Source Compatibility section of the proposal). The members felt the plan was solid and approved us moving forward. Separately, @FranzBusch from the Ecosystem Steering Group indicated his support for including this in our proposal. Thanks @smontgomery for representing the Testing Workgroup at the Build and Packaging Workgroup meeting on Thursday where this was discussed!
