10 years on, what would you change about Swift?

Yes, I agree with you, this explicitness is what I don't like. In my opinion, it makes code less readable and breaks abstractions that Swift introduced and promoted earlier. Again, it's not about an attempt to force anyone think this way, this is my own subjective impression and the reason of discouragement.
